Tour Highlights:

Arrive in Paro and journey to Thimpu to explore landmarks like the National Library and Buddha Point. Visit Punakha Dzong via the scenic Dochula Pass, then return to Paro to tour Paro Dzong and hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest). Conclude your Bhutan adventure with a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang before departure.

Itinerary:

DAY 01: ARRIVE/PARO BY INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Paro/Thimpu by road (50kms/1.5hrs)
You will meet our travel executive after collecting your luggage & passing customs at arrival hall. Drive to Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan and check in at hotel. Overnight in Thimpu.

DAY 02 THIMPU
Today you will visit the National Library in the Thimphu Valley, which houses an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts. Continue on to the Institute for Zorig Chusum, the Textile and Folk Heritage Museum and the King’s Memorial Chorten, Trashichhoedzong and Buddha Point. Overnight in Thimpu.

DAY 03 THIMPU/PUNAKHA BY ROAD (90KMS/3-3.5HRS)
Depart Thimpu valley and travel to Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3140m, stopping en-route to visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress in Bhutan. Rest of the day is free to relax. Overnight in Punakha.

DAY 04 PUNAKHA
Depart for tour of Punakha visiting Punakha Dzong, which formerly served as the seat of government and is still the winter residence of the Dratsheng (Central Monk Body). Afternoon is free to relax. Overnight in Punakha.

DAY 05 PUNAKHA/PARO BY ROAD (130KMS/5HRS)
Drive to Paro and check in at hotel. In the afternoon orientation tour of Paro town including Paro Dzong with its cantilever bridge and the National Museum, to view the fine collection of ancient Thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons and other artefacts. Finally take a wander along the main streets which offer good shopping for jewellery and handicrafts.

DAY 06 PARO
After breakfast visit Taktsang Monastery (aka as Tigers Nest) one of the most scared and revered monasteries in the Kingdom and all Bhutanese Buddhists desire to make a pilgrimage visit to Taktsang at least once in their lives. Each step taken towards the monastery gains merit points towards their future. Afternoon visit nearby Kyichu Lhakhang – one of Bhutan’s oldest and most beautiful temples boasting an orange tree that perpetually bears fruit.

DAY 07 DEPART/PARO BY INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT
Transfer to Paro airport in time to connect your onward flight to next destination.
