Itinerary:
DAY 01: ARRIVAL – NEGOMBO
Airport – Negombo approximate travel distance and time : 10 km 30 mins
On arrival to the Bandaranayake International Airport, you will be met by our representative from Walkers Tours and be transferred to your hotel in Negombo.
Negombo is a vibrant coastal city located on the western coast of Sri Lanka, not far from the Airport. Known for its beautiful sandy beaches and a network of picturesque lagoons, Negombo is a popular destination for the ones who seeking relaxation and water-based activities. The city has a rich history, with Portuguese and Dutch colonial influences evident in its architecture and culture.

DAY 02 : COLOMBO – PINNAWALA - SIGIRIYA
Colombo – Pinnawala approximate travel distance and time : 95 km 2 hours 30 mins
Pinnawala – Sigiriya approximate travel distance and time : 100 km 2 hours 30 mins
Following breakfast at your hotel, you will proceed to the Sigiriya, making a scheduled stop at Pinnawala to visit the renowned Elephant Orphanage
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, located in Pinnawala village, is an orphanage and breeding ground for wild Asian elephants. Home to the largest herd of captive elephants in the world, it provides care for orphaned elephants found in Sri Lanka’s forests. Established to ensure their protection and rehabilitation, the orphanage plays a vital role in elephant conservation.
On completion, you proceed to Sigiriya and check in to your hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure.

DAY 03 : SIGIRIYA - POLONNARUWA
Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa approximate travel distance and time | 70km, 1 hours 30 min drive
After breakfast at your hotel, you will proceed to Sigiriya to climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
Sigiriya, or Lion Rock, is a UNESCO World Heritage site in Sri Lanka, known for its impressive ancient rock fortress. Rising 200 meters above the landscape, it features stunning frescoes, a mirror wall, and the ruins of a royal palace at its summit. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views and explore the rich history of this remarkable site.
On completion, you will proceed to Polonnaruwa.
Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, is a testament to the island's ancient glory as the second capital after Anuradhapura. Visitors can explore well-preserved ruins, including monumental dagobas and the impressive Gal Vihara, renowned for its four stunning Buddha statues carved from a single granite rock.

Day 04 : Sigiriya – Dambulla – Matale – Kandy
Kandalama - Dambulla approximate travel distance and time | 15km, 30min drive
Dambulla – Matale approximate travel distance and time | 55km, 1-hour 30min drive
Matale – Kandy approximate travel distance and time | 30km, 1-hour drive
After breakfast, leave for Dambulla.

On completion, you will proceed to Matale.

In the evening visit Kandy Temple
Kandy Temple is a revered sanctuary known for housing a sacred relic believed to be a tooth of the Buddha. It attracts pilgrims and visitors worldwide, creating an atmosphere of serenity and devotion, enhanced by the scent of incense and the sound of prayers.

Day 05: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Nuwara eliya. From Kandy you will board the train to Nanu oya.
What more is exciting than boarding the hill -country train ride in Sri Lanka? This train ride passes the mountain tops full of mist, the tunnels that are echoed with the hooting of the kids who shout from the trains, the rhythmic swinging and breath-taking views of the surroundings.
Please note train tickets are generally only available for purchase approximately 14 days before travel. Issuing tickets are done through the Department of Railways Sri Lanka, for some trains all tickets may have been pre-reserved by government officials and groups. If the train journey cannot be booked, you will drive to Nuwara eliya by road.
You will be picked up from nanu oya station station by your guide after your journey.

Day 06: Nuwara Eliya
